Project Details
To raise awareness of the impact of wombat mange, WIRES commissioned Sydney artist Brentos to create a powerful public artwork. After learning about the disease, Brentos painted a wombat afflicted with mange—then symbolically painted over the infected areas to represent treatment and healing. We documented the process in a short film that captured both the artwork's creation and the deeper message behind it. The campaign helped spotlight this devastating but treatable condition, inspiring the public to care for and protect these iconic Australian animals.
